Did you get a matching HD w/ that mobo? If not then you will need to install the mod and use your HD then. If you need help installing this one, check out this site, http://webpages.charter.net/modchipzone/

just install the chip, no special hd formatting etc. to do?

Nope, the drive should already be formatted. So yes, just install the chip and you'll be good to go. But you will never be able to play that Xbox w/ the mod disabled, because you will get a Error 6 if you try to boot the Xbox w/ the chip disabled...

wait u can run with the mod disabled (i think). unlock the hdd and then load up slayers evox auto installer and use the feature to format and install the ms dashboard. i used my old v1.0 hdd on my v1.6 mobo by doing that. u lock the drive then u disable mod and it works. this also works for upgrade hdd.

Holy crap, now that I thought over that I am wrong, Thx for getting fixing my stupid error Xstation3!

I was thinking if you had a different stock HD and it was locked to a different Xbox MOBO, then it would not work w/ the chip disabled..... But then you would just unlock it.
