Hi guys. I've Nero ShowTime 2, Version 2.0.1.9, on my Acer laptop computer. I sometimes use ShowTime's frame-capture facility and paste the result into image-processing software (usually IrfanView). Trouble is, if the original film is widescreen (e.g., the VistaVision VERTIGO), the pasted image always comes out 'squeezed' (i.e., the people in the image look thin), no matter what I do in IrfanView. Yet on ShowTime's own screen, the original image is fine (i.e., the people look normal). Any suggestions, please? Thanks - Ken
Do you have any information on the properties of the captured frame as far as resolution? There are some frame capture options in ShowTime you might try under General. Since I don't use InFanView, I would not know if it was capable of displaying the captured images in those resolutions, or the the resolution you have set in you laptop might effect it.
Thanks, Saltgrass. I couldn't quite see where to obtain the information you requested, but I'll go back and look again. Meanwhile, I have solved the problem anyway, in a sort of a way. Instead of pasting the frame-capture into IrfanView, I pasted it into Windows's own Paint program. The image still looked squeezed. But under Image I found a Stretch facility. I entered in the value 130% and, voila, now the image looked fine! But if I could directly save the original frame-capture in its widescreen proportions, using Nero ShowTime, that would be best of all! Thanks - Ken
Ken here again. Even more progress. I have found a way to get the image I want (of the VERTIGO frame-capture) in IrfanView. It requires clicking on Image and unselecting a 'Preserve aspect ratio' option, then entering the width of the new required image as 130%. Thanks guys - Ken
