Does anyone know of any free audio burning software that supports cross-fading? I have an older version of Roxio that provides this, but it's not compatible with Vista.

    Thanks!

With audacity you will need a heap of the scripts which can be found by following the links on the wiki.

There is a specific crossfade script, but I have no use for it so I don't know who well it works, if at all with the windoze version.

IIRC, there is a crossfade plug-in or two for WinAmp. You could probably use it and the LAME or WAV output plug-in.
