Ok as you all probably know already sky is sending everyone a new viewing card. Your sky box office purchases are stored on the viewing card, and phoned back to sky at some point. To avoid abuse of this, there is a limit of how many movies you can order before the card wont allow any more purchases until it successfuly reports back to sky. So when you get your new viewing card order as many movies as you can on the old card before replacing it using this guide. 1. Unplug the phone line from the box and keep it unplugged. 2. Plug the phone line and take your phone off the hook (so it cant dial out) in when you make a purchase. 3. Unplug the line when done. - OR - 1. Access the hidden installer menu (services, 401, select) 2. Add a random dialing prefix so the box can never reach sky Do this as many times as you want until it wont allow any more, replace the card and never have to pay for what you watched.
I done this afew years ago, i watched loads of boxoffice movies and wrestling events but sky does catch up with u in the end!! I wudnt recommend this its great at the time until u get a big bill
sky talkback is done over sat i have no phone line and have sky for 15 years they dont need the phone
There is not talk back when the phone line is cut. Its just one way from them. But the receiver stores the data and when it is eventually connected back to the phone line you will get the bill. As long as you pay your bill they send updates down to your card. If you fail to pay they can stop your card getting its updates.
There is no talkback over sat. That is just ridiculous if you know anything about how sat works. The LNB in the sky dishes are not even capable of transmitting, they are receive only. The box office movies are not stored on the box, they are stored in the card. Since sky is sending you a new card, all your activity on the old card will never reach sky. hadmad: Yes sky works fine without a phone line, but you cannot order box office, it doesnt even let you without a phone line connected, you will get a message to connect the phone line, unless you call the helpline to order.
yep done this in the past (over 5 years ago) and they never caught up with me ... i think the old card worked for about 3 months
