    first time on this site..cool.
freedomland and big mammas house 2...all my programs seem to have a problem with these...
shrink copied to file fast, but then failed during burn...then nero failed during burning on the same files
fabdvd and anydvd seem to pause while ripping (usually close to the end), they'll just keep going forever on one file.
I also have pcg edit with the arccos plugin and the last decryptor and voblanker, but haven't tried them yet, becuase they haven't really worked with the newly released dvds and it's kind of a long process.
all the programs are up to date and I don't think it's my external dvd burner, because other recent movies burned fine (i.e. underworld evolution, hostel, running scared-one way or the other that is)
also dma is enabled (something i saw on another thread)
    soooo...any suggestions?

Using the latest version of AnyDVD (6.0.1.1) with Shrink should work for both of these movies.

ok..this time on big mamma,i got passed anydvd, but when shrink tried to open the files, i got error:
failed to read file "c:/blah blah/video_ts/vts_02_1.vob
    invalid access to memory location

I tried again and got the same message but a different vts file number.

previously i got passed the rip stage with fabdvd, but the burn failed because of an ISCO error or somthing to that effect. something different each time.

my next move is to try the pcg edit accros plugin on freedomland

    Hi and welcome :)

Try it this way. With anydvd running in the background rip the movie to your HDD using DVD Decrypter in file mode. Then open shrink and compress and select output as an iso image then burn with imgburn.

Or you can use the anydvd ripper function to put the movie onto your HDD then shrink.

EDIT: Another easy method is use anydvd with clonedvd2 you have a 21 day trial http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html

Pazzini, Thank You. But, after I ripped it with decryptor (anydvd in backround), shrink couldn't open the files; it gave me the error "system could not find specified file...vts_02_1.vob" which is similar to what I mentioned above. I did have a few I/O errors during the rip and aborted them. When you say have anydvd open in backround, I have the little fox icon running in the system tray..that's correct?

I think I'm going to try re-installing some of the software.

I'll try and dl clone if that doesn't work.

    Yes that is correct.

Did you have Decrypter set up properly? Sorry I should have mentioned this goto tools, settings, I/O select ElbyCDIO while still on the same page go to css then css cracking method and choose none. This way there will be no conflicts.

Sorry to be of no use but I have not used Shrink for a very long time. I only use Recode2,clonedvd2,and DVD Rebuilder Pro.

If I was you I would of un-installed and then re-installed by now,lol

    @chris0001
    rip it with dvdfab
    run it through vobBlanker
then use shrink- this does work with both these movies with no problems. this trio has worked with every new release (for me). if you need a guide i'll post a link here also.

Thanks for the suggestions...i'm going to give them all a try. After reinstalling all the software, i seem to get passed the ripping stage, but am still having a problem burning...I'll let you know if anything works.

I had no problem with either movie using DVD Fab, VoBBlanker, DVD Shrink, and burn with your favorite program.

Someone also mentioned ripit4me, that's an excellent program that's got through a few tough movies for me. Either method will work fine.
