It could be a media problem, what type of blank media are you currently using?
    Where abouts in "The Sticks"??

Freezing and stuttering can also be the result of burning to fast and too close to the edge of the media. Set your target size to 4300 and burn no faster than 4x.

I have burned ritek media R03, with excellent results. You might want to download DVD identifier so that you can check the media codes on your riteks to make sure of what you have.

    Get it here:

Well first off welcome to Ad, Aussiewog lol, we ain't allowed to use that term here in the UK.

Second off, we need to know what kind of program you're using, to burn
    DVDs' with?
It maybe a media/disc problem [as Gwen implied] or it maybe summat else.

Without more info,, we're buggered M8.

    hi

sounds like a compression issue aswell as software used? as old movies tend to be smaller from the start new movies are massive and need mega compressing....

you have the smaller ouput size covered and burn speed at no more than 4x...

oh and i use ritek -R 8x from blankdiscshop (EXCELLANT!) used 2000 now?

use dvd shrink with imgburn 2 brilliant free apps set dvd shrink to 4300meg output size

    Hi Aussiewog
Just a long shot but after burning about a 150 perfect DVDs I started having problems like freezing and stalling.
I use good quality media so I could not understand what was going on
I happened to mention this to a fellow burner who asked if I had anything running in the background?
I soon realised that I had downloaded free anti virus and firewall protection from my ISP and I hadn’t disabled it when burning.
I now disable it and disconnect from the Internet when burning I have had no problems since "make sure you re-enable anti virus protection when going back online"

How do you slow the record speed down to 4X and set the out put size? I am using cloneDVD2 and anyDVD.
