    Hello everybody,

I'd like to present you a problem issued from a DVD recording using Nero Express 6.

    I've recorded some DVD-R (Sony 1.4 GB) with a DVD Camcorder (Hitachi DZ-MV 580).

    The discs are finalized.

When I play them in a DVD player they work fine.

I've bought two DVD burners (Sony DRU-810 and an LG GSA 4167B) in order to make copies of the original DVDs). I use Nero Express 6. When I choose the option Copy DVD to copy 1 small DVD 1.4GB on 1 normal DVD (4.7 GB) the copy is the same as the original.

Here comes the problem: Normally I want to put 3 small DVDs (3 x 1.4 GB = 4.2 GB < 4.7 GB), and I choose the option "Make your own DVD-Video". The DVDs resulting from this copying process ( all of them- I watched them carefully) have a freeze in image for a second or less every maybe 1 minute or every few minutes.

Firstly, I changed the DVD burner but the problem is the same with both of them. Then I suspect the Nero software.

All I want is to make copies of my small original DVDs recorded by the camcorder and to put 3 of them on a normal DVD as the space allows it. What should I do. I still have the possibility to return the LG DVD burner in two days.

Thank you for your precious advice.

This may or may not be your problem but we'll give it a shot...

What speed did you burn at with Nero and what brand of DVDR are you using?

I put Nero on automatic speed. The DVD Writer (LG GSA-4167B)has a max speed for DVD-R of 16x, but the discs are 8x.

I used different discs. Now I am using HP invent DVD-R 8x.

I mainly suspect nero software for the problem.

    Thanks,

    Johnaeus

Firmware updated? Also could be a problem with the Media. As you read posts TY or Verbatim is the way to go with DVD-R's.

As you tried this process with both burners, I wouldn't think you need to worry about returning the LG. It probably is not the cause of this problem.

I think part of the problem could be those HP DVD-R discs you're using. I think they are made by the awful CMC Magnetics, which are considered 4th class media with a burn success rate of 0%- 50% (very poor) Additionally, before burning, it is recommended you manually set the burn speed to about half the advertised speed on the blank disc. (burn at 4x for a 8x max disc, etc.) Basically, if your burner is fine and the problem occurs during the burning process, getting better quality blank media and slowing down the burn speed should fix this problem.

If this does not help or as you suspect Nero to be the problem, you can post the last section of your Nero history here. You can find it here: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt Sections are separated with these ======================.

Just remember to edit out you serial number at top.
