just recently my friend whom is never allowed over, dropped my modded xbox x3 with 250GB seagate. it worked fine for a day or two and then altered to running m$ bios only, and chip will not lite up. i have disected it and all the connections were fine, i thought that the chip might have just come loose but no. if some one can please help, i hope i dont have to reflash because i lost my slayer disk. and worried about all files that might have been lost

Well you could just resolder everything just to make sure, sometimes that fixes things.

    PS @xxsniper
Comments like "you should kill the kid" are not helpful.

Ive had this issue with my x3, when my crazy rotwiler gets excited she sometimes runs into my xbox... and the X3 proceeds to not light up anymore..

I usually have to reseed the chip and sometimes fiddle with it as i turn the xbox on and off and the chip finally starts working and lighting up again :)

Your really lucky that drop didnt damage your HD to screw over a hd that large full of games and game saves would be the sUX!

If your system is still booting up, you shouldnt have any hd issues or lost files its just the chip most likely.

Yeah re-solder everything , and if all else fails, send it back and tell them it blew up, btw reflashing the chip probobly wouldnt help cereal.

Yeah..is it a 1.6 box with the seperate 5v wire. Check that.. If the lights aren't on the chip isn't powered. Everything else sounds ok or it wouldn't boot at all. When you get the chip powered if it still refuses to boot anything but M$ then check the grey wire that goes under the board D0..that stops the M$ bios booting.
