I was happily backing up dvds at 5-7x on average. One night my pc froze while it was ripping soo i hit the reset button and booted back up. I went back to ripping using DVD Decypter 3.16 and now its only going about 1.5x WTF. However, there was no effect on my dvd burner which is running the normal 2.1x. But i can't seem to get pass 2x on the rom, has anyone seen the problem before?

Windows will drop a drive's transfer mode from DMA to PIO if it detects data corruption.

Check to see if your drive is using DMA transfer mode.

Here's a guide for setting this option in Windows that I found by searching http://www.google.com/ for "enable dma windows" (only those terms - not the exact phrase).
