Hi all! I'm hoping someone here can point me in the direction of a solution to my Nero 7 problem. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Here's my problem: 1) Been using Nero 6 to burn DVD+R ISO images without any problems. 2) Re-formatted HD and installed Nero 7 (No, previous Nero versions prior to Nero 7 install) 3) Can not burn a DVD+R ISO image with Nero 7. Spits out "Power Calibration error". 4) Using Taiyo Yuden DVD+R media from supermediastore.com (went through 200 DVDs w/o any coasters). 5) Nero 7 doesn't turn it into a coaster b/c I can burn the image to the same DVD using DVD Decrypter w/o any problems. Doese anyone know what's causing the error or is experiencing the same problem? -A
Hummmmmm.... mine is working fine. I don't know what's wrong with yours, but "power calibration" could be a media issue. Perhaps, Creaky might have some info on that. In the mean time, can you copy and paste the very last section of your Nero log here, so that'll be much better trying to assist you alright. To get your Nero log, go here: C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory - and remember to edit out your Nero serial that starts with something like 5C80 or 5C82XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.
let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar. You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======" - that's my proverbial copy/paste response, however paste us a section from that logfile that relates to an error. as to Power Calibration error, extract from here - http://www.nero.com/eng/FAQs_Error_Messages.html#9 -
Thank you for the feedback. I will post the log when I get home from work. It's just strange that it started happening when I installed Nero 7 and I can make a perfect burn if I use DVD Decrypter. I would attempt to burn with Nero 7 and it would spit an error out. Immediately following I can close Nero 7 and open DVD Decrypter and make a perfect burn. I read another post about a bad batch of Taiyo media floating around. If the recorder or media is bad then I shouldn't be able to burn with Decrpyter and Nero, right? It seems a lot of people are having problems with Nero 7. I've been checking and have yet to see any updates posted on their site.
the good thing about Nero logs is they very accurately summarise a system's burning ability. usually it just takes a few tweaks to get ppl sorted, excepting downrev firmware/crap media/faulty media or hardware problems. as to Nero 7, like any new product there are bugs, but even so there's usually a few tweaks to sort out and Nero 7 may well work fine for you...
