Does anybody out there know how to sync from tunebite, onto my ipod? when I hit the copy button it says, "The ipod database cannot be modified. Thus, your ipod is used as USB mass storage device: synchronized files are stored on the device for mobile data exchange. the files cannot be played on the ipod itself." Any help is appreciated.
What exacttly do you have in mind? I know you want to sync the one or more tunes to your ipod. Do you use itunes? If so, when itunes discovered what you did, it will nuke your pod. You will have to re start it from scratch. I suggest you add the tunes to the library of what ever you were using to sync your music. tunebite is not an audio manager. Yes it has a sync option but it looks as if it was made for a more generic mp3 player the an ipod. In a real system, you select what kind of device you are going to sync to. Most mp3 players use different dlls. If you don't want to use itunes get Media Monkey or Winamp. They are real audio managers both have free versions. I would suggest you move the tune out of the tunebite folder to your music folder(s). The import them into your audio manager.
Mez, The problem is, I dont have Itunes anymore. A) It "organized", my entire 70 gig library, which screwed the entire library up. B) It got deleted when I tried to update it. Itunes wont fully install b/c of an issue with the updated bonjour program. Looked everywhere, asked for help, no luck with my vista machine. Frankly, Itunes sux. Now Media Monkey you say? Is it better than Itunes? I also don't want to wipe off the ipod, to use it with another program, if I dont have to. Which program(s) do you recommend?
Could try Winamp or Floola / http://www.simplehelp.net/2007/07/07/how-to-use-winamp-to-manage-your-ipod/
Media Monkey and Winamp have very good ratings. They are on top itunes is at the bottom even WMP beats out itunes. Although itunes was probably laboring under your library those two are designed for much larger libraries. I have posted a review that includes Media Monkey and Winamp. You might want to read that. Maybe not. They are pretty much neck and neck overall. However, usually one does something better than the other. You need to play with both. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/725123 Where MM shines is you can run scripts. The scripts can be written in VB and possible SQL and executed against selected items or your library. They can create reports, modify library info or alter the music files. Basicly they can do anthing VB can do. Some of the scripts are amazing. I like the one where I can select my entire library and run the library report. It will organize your library into albums then check to see if you are missing any tunes. It reports artist, album, total tune count +'/',+ what you have in your library count. The same author wrote another that creates a web page for a selected artist queries a store for all the albums and lists them all with what you are missing. With a double click you are at the store at that album page. Pretty powerful stuff. That author has his own web site. He has 60 some scripts you can down load for free. You can ask him to make a script. All that said, you ought to look at Winamp as well. The interface is completely different so you might like it better. It may have a better play the tune and the search engine will find the tag info for you function than MM. I use only MM to sync so I have not tried WA in this function at all. In that reguard itunes sucks compaired to MM. The only concivable complaint there might be MM offers too many choices for someone that only wants to press the easy button. Warning any full featured app will induce culture shock after only using such a limited app like itunes.
Awesome guys, thanx. I refuse to use itunes anymore. Its slower than death by molasses, and it seems when I ran it, it used up ALL my systems resources. Not to mention taking over control of my libraries.
itune is moronicaly slow. I can''t believe persons use it with more than about 10 g worth of tunes. I bet it would take 24 hrs to load what I have if it would load. I figure it might blow up my computer.
why do you want to sync? i thought tunebite was a copy protection remover. just remove the copy protection then copy and paste yourself. is that possible?
That is its main function but it has a play and a sync functionality. However, the sync functionality is very basic. I believe it can sync to a generic mp3 player. I have used itunes and Media Monkey to sync. With MM you need to configure your mp3 player before you can sunc. Tunebyte does not have any configuration routine. So I guess it can sycn to a certain device but it is not obvious what kind of device it is. I had no desire to see if it would screw up my ipod.
