    Hey, well the best program to use (my personal favourite) is FlashFXP. Your xbox's ip addy should be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.2.

    Ok, well you will have to explain to me how you are connecting the Ethernet cable to the Xbox.
    What i am doing is, because i have broadband and have a modem router. I change the modems...
    IP: 192.168.0.1
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Defult gateway: Left with nothing in it.

    This is the start of the process, but i need to know how you are going to connect your computer to the xbox in order to give you are specific guide on how to do it.

    basically (if you havent been told yet)
    your router should be 192.168.0.1
    what your router does is issue your computer AND the xbox separate IPS through dhcp
    so your pc will be something like 192.168.0.2
    and your xbox will be something like 192.168.0.3

    the gateway on the pc AND the xbox should be 192.168.0.1

    your subnet mask is correct... should be 255.255.255.0 on all machines

    if u are confused.. just know that your router's firewall needs to be set to allow it to accept connections in the private network and that your pc and xbox IPs should be 192.168.0.x (x not equal to 1)

    you probably have been told already... this is just a quick note on procedure

    remember you have to set your xbox settings to these on EACH dashboard you are using.

    ok if u are using a crossover cable (like me) then the same thing applies basically...

    u would set your EXTRA ethernet card as the router... meaning:
    extra e.card:
    IP - 192.168.0.1
    sub - 255.255.255.0
    gateway - the ip of your primary internet source (your REAL IP)
    OR you can leave the gateway blank for it (its only needed if u wanna be able to access the internet on ur pc AND the xbox together)\

    xbox settings should be the same:
    ip - 192.168.0.x (x not equal to 1)
    subnet - 255.255.255.0
    gateway - 192.168.0.1 (ip of the card above)

    you should be set with those settings... remember the set ur firewall correctly

    ok wat is my 'EXTRA ethernet card' is it just the port in the back of my computer?? and how do i change the IP, subnet and gateway??

    ip - 192.168.0.x (x not equal to 1)
    wat does x not equal to 1 mean???

    thanx

    if you only have 1 ethernet card do this:

    plug in your crossover cable to the xbox and pc.
    once your pc picks up the connection, go to my network places and open the settings for your network connection by pressing the properties button.
    in the window for your device go to 'General' tab > scroll down to internet protocol > click 'properties'
    when the properties window opens, choose 'use the following ip address'
    ip = 192.168.0.1
    subnet = 255.255.255.0
    gateway = doesnt matter since you wont be able to get online anyways
    dns = dont worry about it

    click ok and exit all the way out.

    now go to your xbox and insert:
    ip = 192.168.0.x
    NOTE: THE 'x' SHOULD BE ANY NUMBER OVER 1 (thats what i meant by that earlier statement)
    subnet = 255.255.255.0
    gateway = 192.168.0.1
    dns = dont worry about it

    check your firewall... u should be good to go

    i guess i should mention. You can click on your network device and find your way to the 'internet connection sharing' window and that should set the pc part up FOR you... ull still have to set the xbox up tho.

    ^^^ probably easiest

    in flashfxp you need to quick connect:

    server or Url = 192.168.0.x (whatever u set your xbox to)
    user name = xbox
    password = xbox

    thats all...

    u should be fine... bed time for me

    what dashboard are you using?
    then we can tell you how to change it in your dash

    //
    you will change your IP address on your computer like he said
    192.168.0.1
    Subnet Mask
    255.255.255.0
    Gateway
    Leave blank for now.

    Next you need to change your IP address "INSIDE" your xbox
    In Evolution X its under settings, youll see where it sais IP address
    set it to 192.168.0.2
    Subnet Mask
    255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway
    192.168.0.1

    Now, with the crossover cable connected start up Flash FXP
    go to quick connect, for site address put 192.168.0.2
    Username: xbox
    Password: xbox

    connect...
