use a standard cable if youre going via a router not a crossover cable
connect all cables etc , switch on xbox
set your ip on your xbox as 192.168.0.1 (static ip)
    default gateway 192.168.1.1
    subnet 255.255.255.0
    save changes
    and exit
In your pc set your network tcp/ip to 192.168.0.3
leave default gateway, subnet mask will be 255.255.255.0
save seetings then switch off your pc
reboot your xbox, then switch on your pc
    open flash fxp
    goto quick connect
    adress will be 192.168.0.1
    user xbox
    pass xbox

    Have fun

i assume your router usually uses DHCP to assign IP addresses, so you could just set your xbox to use DHCP and let the router give an IP. then you can use the router's interface or your xbox dashboard to tell you what your xbox's IP is and setup your ftp to use that IP. Then you should have internet AND xbox access.

Also xbox live can get internet settings using DHCP too.

    It's all good!

Kamran...what type of router do you have? Because your IP number will be different depending on whether you have a Linksys, Dlink etc. For example, the default gateway on a Linksys would be different from the Dlink. This will help trust me. Oh and also, the Linksys will assign your Xbox a different IP address at the top than the Dlink. Do me a favor, let me know what router then tell me what your top 4 to 5 settings say from left to right.

I tried the same thing, but it seems i can't ftp to my xbox.
I think it's because of the login and password...
I have had my xbox modded, so i didn't do it myself.
Is it possible that the guy who modded my xbox used a different l/p?
How can I (re)find the l/p, because i don't have a name or adress of that guy.
I tried it already for hours and hours, without success, so please, if you can help me, help me!

    Thanks anyway!

egg is right, the gateway is set different for diff routers, (as we found out huh egg?)

You could always get another NIC, use it in a spare slot on your pc, and connect that with a crossover

if you think that your evox ftp password is wrong, and you cant get access to it, try installing with an auto installer, it will reset the evox.ini settings
use littlejonnys, or slayers (xavier is great too, but would need upgrading with the new stuff)

Kamran PM me then I can give you my IM name and I will get you up and running. That is unless you have a Linksys router, then it might prove to be more difficult. Either way, I will try and help you.
