FTP problem, how to switch to static?

    I've read through the guides, but I'm not able to figure out how to change my computers IP adress to static, My xbox is set up fine but just cant find anywhere in the setting to change it from DHCP to static, I'm on windows XP home, thanks for any help

    I setup my FTP by reading a tutorial on this forum. It's a sticky right at the top of this section.

    There isn't really a place in Windows Xp that says "static". But what you have to do is go to your control panel and set the properties on your network settings under the TCP/IP section. From there you just enter the IP address of your xbox and that's it.

    From there I use a program called FlashFXP and it connects fine. I don't know if I explained this well enough but like I said, look at the top of this forum for a much more detailed tutorial. Good luck.
