    Hey,
Just making sure my set up is rite. In order to ftp to my xbox and burn images on to the harddrive I need evolution x installed on the xbox harddrive. Flashfxp installed on my pc hardrive and a crossover cable connected to network card in my pc and network card in my xbox. Is that all I need software and hardware wise?

You don't need 2 network cards, but other than that you got everything.

About loading games on the hard drive. DO you need a dvd burner or will a standard CD burner work for the image conversion to ISO?

    What?

Anyway if you want to play games installed on the hard drive you dont make them into iso's and you dont need a burner of any kind.
    Is that your question?

To put games on hard drive you can use an xbox app called DVD2Xbox or PxHDDloader

And no you cant ftp into your box without modifying your box in some way(i'm assuming your not using an exploit and just some one who just started realizing what an xbox can do)

Go get a mod chip man!

it's best to use dvd2xbox to put games on hdd because it auto patches the game

I just wanted to add that PxHDDLoader also auto patches and the newest version fixed most of the bugs previous versions have and last but not least you should probably have a copy of both as ive known people with trouble on some games with one app and the other one worked and vica verca vica.
(newest version of px is 1.3)

I am getting one, i just wonder what everyone recommends in the way of mod chips? Mine is also 1st generation of xboxes. I replaced the dvd drive myself, soldered two wires. I do know my soldering technique is not like it use to be. I use to have a steady hand :) not anymore :(

Why buy a chip when you can mod for free today!!

Alot of people who want to flash their TSOP know someone (or have themselves) a modded XBOX.
    WHAT YOU NEED
    1. A Modded XBOX (For FTP Access)
    2. An UnModded XBOX (Which is getting modded)
    3. A Memory Card (For the 007 - Agent Under Fire Saved Game)
    4. 007 - Agent Under Fire ORIGINAL DVD Game. The old one.(platinum did not work for me)
    5. 007savewithraincoat.zip file from #xbins on IRC - EFNet
    6. A Soldering Iron (15 Watt) from Radio Shack or any local electronics store.
    7. Solder also available at Radio Shack or your local electronics store.
    8. De-soldering Braid (in case you make a mistake)
    9. A couple pieces of electrical tape to cover the surrounding area.
    10. slayers2.5

HEy Yankeered I am getting a chip that someone is installing for me. IT will be flashed and ready to go. What memory card are you all talking about? I did not know about that either, What i am also planning to do is add a 40 to 80 gig drive to my xbox? How does cooling need to be done for this.

a memory card is only needed if you are NOT going to install a chip but are using the chip that is already on the motherboard of your xbox, you use the memory card to install the flash utility and bios of your choice
