FTP with EvoX

    hey,
    i was wondering if someone could help me set up an ftp. i know i have the evoX dashboard, and i have a crossover cable connected to my computer through a router... but other than that i have no clue what to do, can anyone give me a short walkthrough on it?

    if you have a router you do not need a crossover cable. Also if you have a crossover cable you do not need a router . figure out which way you want do to it.

    ok, but after i figure out which way i want to do it... then what do i do? i probably have to set up some sort of network with the xbox and my computer, but how do i do that with the evoX dashboard?

    do you know what version of evox you have. Im at work right now other wise I would talk you through it.

    i succesfully ftped my xbox and computer using a router it would help if you actually told us what method you wre using than just saying i have figured it out.

    i just need help to set up the ftp. say i want to ftp it through the router, what do i have to do? i know literally nothing. im assuming i have to input some kind of network settings into both the xbox and laptop, but where and how?

    ok here is what you do your xbox ip should be 192.168.0.3 (last number varies) open up evox and just leave it on. now go on to you pc and clickstart menu and click network places on the left of your screen there will be a menu saying network tasks click on network conncections and then right click your connection and click properties. now you will see a drop down menu in the middle. go to the very bottom which should say tcp/ip double click on that now type in on ip address 192.168.0.1 (not same ip as xbox)now download a program called flashfxp(google it) and you will see three windows on the one on the right there is a lightning bolt click on that then click quick connect type in your xboxs ip and password "xbox" username "xbox" then your good to go. i tried to make this as clear as posssible any questions ask me.

    if im hooking this up through my router, do i need to use a crossover cable from the xbox to the router or a normal ethernet cable?

    also, how do i know what my xbox's ip address is?

    When connecting to a router you need to use a reglar ethernet cable. On your evox dashboard under setting you should be able to find your xbox ip address.

    yall are making it waaaaaaaaay too complicated omg... ok go to system settings in ur evox dash. now find the ip address and who ever told u 192.168.0.3 is lying becuase my last TWO numbers are not that and just last night it changed from the first ip i had so dont listen him... but any ways find ur ip address. did u d/l flash fxp if u did put your ip in the thing that says url. then the thing above pass word put xbox then the pw put xbox and then conect its that easy thats what u do if u are using a router ive never used a crossover cable but i bet its the same way... i hate when ppl try to make things more complicated then it is geez

    ill try and set it up as soon as my xbox is freed up... i live in residence in university and people are constantly playing games, so when i get a chance ill search for that ip and set it up. thank you everyone for your help.

    HELP ME...i have flash fxp full version and I can get it connected to the xbox just fine, the only problem is the upload speed from comp to xbox and the other way around..I can't get the speed to go over about 200 kb/s, the xbox is set at full duplex and i have 5mb/s connection, please help me im using dlink 701 or something

    helpme my evox never changes its ip unless i tell it too i dont no what your on about?

    hey all thats great and all but i need help too...
    it is very related...

    to ftp, what do i put in these fields in my evox dash? (listed is my current settings)

    Setup Network Yes
    Use Static Ip No
    IP 192.168.2.25(same as the blue ip above)
    Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway 192.168.2.1
    DNS same /\
    DNS 0.0.0.0
    Setup Delay 0
    skip setup if no link No

    wat should i type into ythese feilds?
