ftp without ethernet connection??

i have an older computer i am trying to ftp with but it has a strange connection. the connector is approx 10mm wide and has 4 wires instead of the 8 wires of a normal ethernet connection?? can anyone identify which connection this is?

 

if you know the manufacture and the model of the computer you can find it easily with a simple web search. also, i dont think you can use other cable except a ethernet cable to connect to the xbox.

 

You can get an ethernet card if you have an open pci slot on your computer, then you can ftp to it.

 

is it an easy install to fit an ethernet card? i am a bit of a newbie lol

 

Yes it's easy,you just need to make sure you get the right card for your spare slot which should be PCI & not PCI-E,you just place the ether card into the slot, (there's a cutout in the card, line it up with the guide inside the PCI slot)then gently push it home all the way, then restart machine,if you have win 2000 & or xp it should be automatically detected,for other early OS's i assume you'll need the OS cd-rom ?? or not

 

he is right. it aslo might come with cd installer.

 

Great reminder bandit,i forgot about the installer rom,there's also the card makers website if you buy a 2nd hand unit & download the diver if you need it
