Tested 3 movie and two PS2 backups (vice city and retrun to castle wolfenstein)onto +R media and worked like a charm...no problems in either format. Movie used DVD Shrink to author and Nero to burn. PS2 DVD Decrypter for both. Using the new Iomega (actually NEC) DVD+R/RW drive to create and read dics on separate Artec DVD-ROM. Movies played on a Samsung M301 Standalone and PS2 on v7 fliptop/swap magic Bestbuy (at least mine in Middletown, NY) has combo packs of 4/1 or 8/2 (+r/+rw) to try with and also had 50 packs of +r for $75!
I've had good experiences with Fuji +R on both a HP 200i and a Sony DRU-510A. This includes indvidually packed discs and on a spool. Probably the avg price I paid for these over the past year or 2 has been ~ $1.50 (I wait for the retail deals.) These ID out to Ricoh discs, which are generally thought to be very good, and very compatible.
Yeah, I have a preference for Fuji DVD media. It has the nice, dark purple writing surface which for some reason makes me feel it is better (as compared to Verbatim, Memorex, TDK). Also feels sturdier and I like the simple black & chrome finish. Never had a problem using it, and generally, it's cheaper than other name brands. It's also Ricoh branded.
Yep Fuji DVD+R/RW is good. Only tested one +RW and four DVD+Rs and they all burned nicely with a sony dru 500AX. Plan on gettin' some more. Got 'em at Best buy.
