    Don't know how long they will be on sale, but today I got a 30 pk. for $9.94 plus tax. That's about $.30 each.
    DVD Identifier says they are Taiyo Yuden TYG02
    I tried one to back up Alone In The Dark, and it was flawless! :eek:)
    Check them out..............

    They are still in stock at Staples.com and if you order over 50 bucks worth, free shipping. Deal goes through Saturday.

    Hey kivory, I'm not sure how your local staple's operates,but In my area-400 yards away-LOL,they usually get a shipment of their "on sale stuff" on wednesdays during the week of their sales.
    God it's nice living within a quarter mile staples/super walmart/and oddlots. I just wish we had a local Office Depot and BestBuy.

    Sorry to repost something already said, but I don't read every post.
    kivory........... did you ask if they give out rain checks? Some places do. I don't know about Staples. All they can say is "NO". :eek:)

    BTW...........
    GG000xxx is what's printed in the hub of these Fuji's, which is supposed to mean they are real Taiyo Yudens, right? That's what I read in another thread....

    Staples does not do rainchecks.

    They will either order them for you from their website or direct you to a nearby location that has the item.

    :) JVC, yeah, you got the real deal :) naturally the chain stores/ B&M don't sell fakes...but, you never know with the blank media industry lately going downhill, but rest assured...you got the TYs :)

    @ saugmon,

    well, i live fairly close to all those stores that have the media sales...the only one that is FAR away is compusa...about 45 min. drive w/ LA traffic :)

    i got an office depot less than 5 min. by car, i know how much you like the Maxells...:p and with all the sales, my local OD always has the MIJ and the MIT, $hitloads of them~ :) perhaps we could arrange a "trade" of some sorts in the near future :)

    yeah, i went to staples on wed....they said they were sold out by tues...they got their initial shipment last saturday. also asked about the raincheck, and they said "NO" as well~ :(

    one guy DID tell me they get new stock throughout the week, so, i might just drop by again later tonight to see if they replenished the fuji stock..i DID get those 100 pack cases for $10, purty aren't they? hehe.

    @abozich

    i just personally like to "double check" my media firsthand when i buy from stores...i don't like taking the risk of getting something i did not set out to purchase when it comes in the mail....meaning, if i set out to get the MIJ FUJI/SONY, then that is the ONLY thing i will get...don't want them to send me the MIT ones since i KNOW those are NOT the TYs in the dvd+r format~ :) just a little bit picky about ordering from those retail stores...this is obviously NOT the case when ordering from supermediastore, rima, meritline, newegg, etc...

    good day to you all, i hope my local staples got more of these when i go later today...FUJI FUJI FUJI...$0.30/each...why not? hahahaha

    After reading this post, I when and purchased some fuji dvd-r at a local staples...fujifilm color tower pack of 30 for $9.94. But I'm afraid these disc are not the same as guys mentioned. DVD Identifier says - Unique disc identifer : [DVD-R:FUJIFILM03]
    MANUFACTURER NAME : [FUJI FILM]
    MANUFACTURE ID : [FUJIFILM03]
    And on the package it says Made In Taiwan. I don't see anything refering to Taiyo Yuden TYG02. Are the discs I purchased any good or should I take the rest back. Thanks for any input.

    @rick...

    the fuji 30pk that are MADE IN JAPAN are the TYG02s...sorry if that was not mentioned in this thread...as it was mentioned in another thread earlier...i would get an exchange for the MADE IN JAPAN ones...you will be good to go then...

    i have never tried the fuji coded media, so, nothing i can say to respond to that...but, i TRUST the quality of Taiyo Yuden media...so, in MY OPINION, i would "Exchange" them for the Made In Japan Fuji if they are available @ ur staples~ for what it's worth.

    good luck

    rick...........
    Sorry you didn't get the real ones at your Staples. But, like kivory said, return them, and see if they have the Japan ones. I looked and made sure it said "made in Japan", on the pkg. I got. DVD Identifier says they are the real thing. Maybe I just lucked out.....................

    it's just a luck of the draw when you go to a store not knowing EXACTLY what you are looking for...good thing you checked JVC~ :) that's why i don't trust ordering from online (from these major retailers), you know the guy/girl packaging your order is not going to "check" for you~ they'll throw whatever is available and ship it to you...another coin toss~ :)

    Thanks for all your response. I took these back and manage to find 2 stacks that was made in Japan out of about 25 stacks...the rest were made in taiwan. The ones made in japan are real TYG02. Thanks again.
