just picked up a 5 pack of fuji dvd+ 8X at kmart and they are tayios(YUDEN000-T02-00) i believe the price was 5.99
Good media, but bad price. You can get those at best buy for around 40 bucks per hundred. You have to buy larger bulks, to get the good price.
If you got a bestbuy store nearby, you can get the 50 packs for $20.Seems like they are always on sale there, but too far for me to go. 40 cents apiece when on sale. Very good media, sony +1x-8x that were made in japan were also coding out as Yuden000-to2.
i know the price was bad, the only thing i hate about best buy is every time i go there they out of dvd media.
They are probably like staples and office depot, you have to get there on sunday-first day of their sale.
I'm about 50-60 miles away from the closest best buy. With the way the gas prices are going,it will be a while when I can get to one,lol
western ohio, Halfway between dayton and findlay. Saugeye capital of the world! Actually where I live at, the airstream rv plant is about 3 blocks away to give you a hint.
Ok,I live in south dakota. We dont have many saugeyes here. Mostly walleyes and sauger.I dont know why they dont hybrid them around here. All I know is, that this fishing talk is giving me cabin fever bigtime.LOL
You've got to go with the spindle packs. You paid over a dollar per disk. Even at regular price, the spindles are cheaper than that per disk. If you have other stores around, they should match the prices.
Is Fuji really a good media? I am having troubles getting my DVD-R's to play on my Oritron DVD4119 player. I called them and they said I need to "finalize" the disc before it would play. Now, I'm not the smartest person in the world, but this sounded like a line to me. Any thoughts?
The fuji's made in japan are very good, they usually I.D. as taiyo yuden or yuden, the ones not made in japan, are either prodisc or fujifilm, not nearly as good. The statement about the discs not being finalized, is definitely a line. All burning programs finalize the disc after the burn is done.Unless your talking about a dvd recorder standalone, then you have the option when to finalize.
just started using kprobe to check my discs, i'm getting really bad readings from my fujis(yudens) my fuji read Disc : DVD+R , YUDEN000T02 [Taiyo Yuden Company Limited] Speed : 4x ECC blocks sum (PI/PIF) : 8/1 Scanned range : 0 - 2149747 Sampling count : 114831 Errors : 0 PI Max : 285 PI Average : 27.39 PI Total : 452218 PIF Max : 3 PIF Average : 0.03 PIF Total : 482 my maxell read Disc : DVD-R , MXL RG02 [Maxell] Speed : 4x ECC blocks sum (PI/PIF) : 8/1 Scanned range : 0 - 2212673 Sampling count : 118148 Errors : 0 PI Max : 80 PI Average : 9.66 PI Total : 163990 PIF Max : 2 PIF Average : 0.02 PIF Total : 372 my sony read Disc : DVD+R , RICOHJPNR01 [Ricoh Company Limited] Speed : 4x ECC blocks sum (PI/PIF) : 8/1 Scanned range : 0 - 2283521 Sampling count : 121847 Errors : 0 PI Max : 9 PI Average : 1.05 PI Total : 18324 PIF Max : 2 PIF Average : 0.12 PIF Total : 205 could this mean i get better results with other media and should stay away from tys or is it just this batch of tys with that media code
Some burners just simply dont like some media. This seems to be true in your case.Stick with what works for you. good luck jD
