Hi guys how are you doing.

I request some information on buying a panasonic plasma.
    I have 2 options

    Vierra 42" 1024 x 768 or a
    vierra 42" 1920 x 1080

I looked at many electrical stores and seen both but i dont think i can notice the difference.

Is this more of a scam or is this only good in larger tv's?

    Your response is appreciated.

the only way you will see a difference between 720p and 1080p is if your tv is 50" or larger

What was the video feed. Anything standard def and there would be no difference. I agree with david66 that even with hi-def you would be hard pressed to see the difference on a 42 inch.

It also depends on how close you are to the set.

I'd like to join this debate as I was going to post a thread on a similar issue.I have a Hitachi PD8600 42 in plasma(1080i).Playing upscaled DVD or Blu-Ray on the PS3 is ok but I notice an improvement with 720p.I downloaded the Simpsons Movie game demo via PS3 and the picture quality is in my opinion superior.

    Is this a common view?

Many of the sports channels have chosen 720p as it produces less artifacts especially with fast action. 1080i images tend to flicker more than 720p images and have more problems displaying thin horizontal lines.
