I have 2 computers and while trying to make myself a copy of Fun with Dick and Jane, The read no more got started and the pc crashed. This happen 4 times on one and so I tryed the other computer and it did the same thing. Just when it starts to read the movie it crashes. Anyone else have this happen to them?
You need to provide some more information, like just what programs are you using. FWD&J has ARccOS and Puppetlock protection on it, and it also has both a WS and FS version.
The program I was using was DVDX copy and dvd43 in the background. I know it is a older program but it has been a good one that works most all the time. It is WS I was trying to copy. It would not even start reading 3 seconds when it would just turn off my pc. Both of the computers I tryed this on did the same thing. It would give me a stop error. I check to see if the drivers for my Video adapter device were updated and they are in both pc's. This has never happen with any other movie.
dvdxcopy platinum was not designed to work with dvd43,as platinum has its own ripper. this version of platinum was,40415rf,as that version does not have a ripper, also works best with anydvd. cheers
I just did Fun With Dick and Jane, yesterday. I used DVD Fab Decrypter 2.9.7.7. You can try that at http://dvdidle.com/free.htm, use free version. I also used DVDShrink, you can get that at http://digital-digest.com/dvdshrink/index.php. I use Nero to write with. Hope this helps, Good Luck! ps close out DVD43, when you use DVD Fab Decrypter, they don't work well together.
Anydvd & clonedvd 2 (you can choose to remove WS or Full Screen or just keep both) or Dvd Fabdecrypter Vob Blanker (to remove things you don't need or want Trailers or WS FS ver of movie) along with your fav shrink program Nero Recode or DVD Shrink... if you remove the WS or FS ver of the movie you'll have a compression free backup with extras and menu's just one ver of the movie
Sorry it took so long to reply Thank you all for the input. I was not using DVDx platium, but just plain ole DVDx copy express. It has always been a good one. Well until now and I am not sure it is the reason. I decided to watch the movie on my pc and see how it acted with me just watching instead of trying to copy and it did the same thing again as soon as it was getting ready to start my pc stoped. As did the other computer in the room when I tryed it in there. A stop error is all I get. Weird. No other movie has done this.
Maybe you just got a bad disk, take it back and get another original to backup. However, it is doubtful if this is the old DVDXcopy by 321 that it can back this movie up, you can try the trial of AnyDVD in the background, this sometimes will work and break the encryption. http://www.slysoft.com Or go with the freebies DVDFab Decrypter, Shrink and either DVDDecrypter or ImgBurn to burn your movie.
I will and thanks everyone for the input. I am getting ready to leave to get another copy of the movie and try again. I will try one of the other programs you talk about also. Thanks again.
