After installing a mod-chip, the PS2 unit wouldn't boot at all. The red light does not light up when power is connected. After finding this, I ran a few tests with a multimeter to see where the problem might be. It turned out that the "PS1 3.3V Regulator (12V Input)" fuse is blown. Question is where can I find a 3.3V Regulator with 12V Input? I had a spare GH-022 motherboard but when I tried to desolder it, it was blown again. It seems like the fuse is really sensitive to heat.

You could also try using a heat sink to absorb some of the heat.
