I use dvd2svcd for the entire dvd backup process. I use the internal routines for ripping as opposed to vstrip. Should I? I've used both TMPGEnc and CCE for encoding. I use Nero 5 for burning the SVCD. If I want to burn the files as bin/.cue, Nero doesn't work properly and I have to use CDRWIN. But I can live with that. My problem is that after backing up my dvds, upon playback in my standalone player they are "fuzzy" for lack of better terminology. Especially darker backgrounds. I burn at 4x. Until this past week, I've never had this problem. Although it just occured to me that I switched by cdr brand recently because of a good buy. I recently purchased Verbatim 80min 700mb 1x-48x speed cdrs. Could this be causing a less clear image. Thanks fellas. 89stang
