I want to compare these two cards and know which one is better and by how much.

Im just looking at the HP Pavilion dv7-1245dx which has the hd 3200 and the Sony VAIO VPCCW13FX/R with the G210M 256 mb.

The Sony is more expensive, however the HP uses AMD dual core at 2.1 ghz while the Sony uses Intel Dual Core at 2.2ghz. Thanks.

It doesn't really matter, neither can really play any game better than Minesweeper or Solitaire. I'd take the HD3200 because ATI have a proven track record for reliability at mobile graphics.

Plus, sony does not have the best reliability.

Meh, to be honest I hear that about most laptop brands. I'm not that fond of Acers, some people hate HPs, others dislike Toshibas...

I'd go with the Sony simply due to the processor... AMD's mobile CPUs aren't exactly the best, and the Intel is slightly higher clocked anyway.

Clock speeds are quite frankly irrelevant these days. It really depends what the CPU is. I suspect you may be right, but don't assume clock speed is everything, it isn't.

I generally make a point of telling others that when a GHz battle starts - very few people seem to believe a Core i7 720 (1.66GHz) could be better than a Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.53GHz) :p

The fact the GHz value was higher was supposed to be a minor point, rather than the main one :)

Depends how much your budget is as to what we can suggest, really.

This laptop is not really for much gaming at all. So a cheap laptop, but a fast one that can handle some games.

    This one http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-216/which_laptop-814603/

is a gaming laptop budget. Help me on that thread too. Thanks.
And these laptops are for two different people of different budgets.
