Gamecube dvd mini burn and work but not full size?

    I have an interesting problem I have used datawrite mini dvds to burn some backups but when i try a dvd full size my gamecube will not read it anyone one know why or can help me?

    All i can think of is that DYE type might be different on mini and full size.

    BTW i do not have full size, i have one traxdata 8cm disk which has ritek g04 dye type and it works w/o a DRE.
