you know how when it starts with out disc the put one in the main menu were u push start put something on the corner so that the gamecube think that i has a game inside then put the copy i thin ill boot like i used todo with my ps1 and ps2
If it was that easy for a Swap Magic type loading procedure to be done, it would've been. Since that isn't the case, I'm prepared to say that that idea won't work.
As I recall, the first PlayStation required a swap due to it's copy protection. It had to do with finding a game that had the same number of audio tracks as the back-up you're trying to boot. Not only that, but it required either a Game Shark or various mod chips that plugged into the rear port of the older models. The "portable" one and the later models didn't have the port on the back, causing actual modification to the motherboard to be necessary like modern day mod chips do. As for the PS2, it's has a Swap Magic because the guys that made it had to funds to get a disc pressed that would allow the use of back-ups. Now, the deal with PS2 is the Swap Magic can only handle up to a certain size TOC, so whenever it encounters games such as FFX, other programs are required as well. Here's the thing though. We're talking about the PS2, a console with an exploit that doesn't exist on the Xbox or GameCube. GameCube doesn't have the same copy protection as PlayStation. The file system isn't even the same, which is why PlayStation games can be backed up using a PC's CD-ROM whereas GameCube games have to be backed up by streaming the image from the GameCube. I suppose it's worth mentioning that early soft mods required an original to be loaded before a back-up could be booted. This is because the drive code wasn't fully understood at the time and at this point it is no longer necessary and all major soft mods now have direct boot methods implemented. Lastly, think about what you said in the first post. You more or less say you want to trick the lid switch into thinking it's always closed, a method that Swap Magic uses on PS2. This is quite a foolish idea since, for one, the GameCube would continuously spin the disc. If you were dumb enough to try and take the disc out while it was spinning and put a back-up in, you risk shooting yourself in the eye with a laser by reflecting it off the bottom of the disc towards your face. Not to mention the risk of damaging the GC in some way by forcefully stopping the motor from spinning. Summary: From a hardware standpoint, there's no ****ing way that would ever work. Don't even try it.
Now that I think about it, the GC would probably just give you a DRE if you tried to remove the game while it was still spinning. I'm not willing to try it though.
some people obviously dont know its illegal to smoke crack Yeah, well, look at the discussion topic of the forum you are on.
