Im not sure if this would work or not but could you just like take off the gamecube top which would allow enough space to use a regular dvd to fit on the disc spin. then you could just use a normal size dvd-R to play gamecube games right? Does anyone think it would work? i remember seeing a mod where this guy took a ps2 xbox and gamecube and a tv and put it all into one console. it was cool. the gamecube only had the disc spinner siticking out, so then the guy could have used normal dvd. but yeah i was just wondering. what do you think?
It does work, and has been done for a long time, there are tons of replacemnt cases that allow for full sized DVD-R to be used, but keep in mind the limit is still that of a mini DVD-R as the laser of the gamecube can't go any further.
