hi all, at the moment im looking to get a tv tuner for a laptop that i can play a gamecube through.

i was in a computer shop today and the only one they had was a freeview box, not a proper sattelite/cable box or anything but just a flash drive type thing. and it only has a coaxial connection.

so its designed for the digital freeview channels but is it likely il be able to use a gamecube through it? the gcube uses a standard rgb yellow white and red wires connection but i have an adapter that allows you to use a coaxial analogue signal using uhf or vhf which ever one it is. thanks for any help, Marco

the person in the shop said its just a small cheap digital freeview box so its unlikly it has seperate tuning of analogue signals but then it uses a coaxial attachement...up until today i thought that was only for analogue tv and digital tv would require a satalite or some kinda special arial. can anyone shed some light on the situation?

also im not sure if freeview or an equivilant exits outside of britain so for anyone who is unaware its just standard digital tv channels. a one of payment to get a freeview box and i think theres somethign like 96 channels available just now. so its basicaly how the government switched from terestrial to digital

No, you won't be able to tune your GC using that card, it will only decode digital transmissions.

The GC coax adapter will transmit an analogue signal which the card won't be able to detect.

You'll need a video card with an RGB input or "TV-in" function.
