This little problem of mine is making me a little pissed. My xbox won't read some of my games, I softmodded it before and had a few problems and it started after I had to redo the harddrive once. After I redid the harddrive it didn't read some games on cd or even the harddrive. But I took off my softmod and have it stock again (or close to...I kept backups just incase), I patched the dash with the newest dash update, but it's still not reading some games...just locks up during the initial load. Should I try and clean the DVD drive and it magically work again? Or does it sound more severe?
im really not sure. i modded my xbox way back when... and it did fine when i took the mods off. remember...where u modded ur stuff it probably said "i do not take responsibility for ur xbox if it gets messed up". get a cleaning disk, and run it in your xbox. maybe that will help. maybe the disks that wont read are scratched?
The games aren't scratched, but I still think it has to do with when my xbox screwed up one time and I used XboxHDM to fix it...maybe something went wrong? I still have remenace of Softmod on my xbox (E Drive crap), but i'm still super stumped when I still had my softmod...some of the games on my hard drive didn't even work, they'd just lock up! The DVD drive has nothing to do on how games on the hard drive work so...it's not the drive. It has to be something on the hard drive that maybe it's screwing with my games.
