Hello, well yesterday I bought Flatout cause I thought the commercial was sweet. So I buy it, throw it in my Softmodded Xbox, it locks up during profile loading/creating. I return my xbox to the stock status (Microsoft Dashboard) and it still didn't work. So I brought it back and exchanged it for Burnout 3, same thing. Locks up during the loading of the game. I can hear the HDD spinning. I think it has something to do with me having to use XboxHDM to fix my xbox a few weeks ago (accidentally renamed a few Dashboard files and had to restore some backups I made). Any clue why? (And no, I don't have either game anymore.)
I used the Softmod Installer Deluxe (Splinter Cell Exploit), so I should use the Auto-Installer Deluxe and use the Patch Dashboard thing? (Don't remember the number)
Ok one question, what will updating the Dashboard do? Burnout 3 worked before I softmodded. I used Xbox Live twice so I may have updated the dashboard already. But I don't understand what it'll do, the thing that makes most sense to me on why it's not working is when I used the XboxHDM to fix my xbox because I screwed around with some files.
Right. I don't know exactly what files you screwed around with but if some belong to the Dashboard, this will correct them. Updating dashboard BIOS can effect several things (for the better) fixing problems and known errors is one. Since you messed with files. Your goal now is to get everything back like it was, right? Updating your dash is a start.
Ok, I will start the fixing of the dashboard tomorrow....but one more thing to say, I used backups I made just after I softmodded, so it's not like im using already screwed dash files, they were as fresh as they were when I bought my xbox.
This happens when the xbox is not able to boot because there have been changes made to the dashboard...
