does anyone know how to get rid of the dirty disc error on xbox because everytime i put a new game in my xbox it wont even load.recently bought ncaa football o6 and when i put that one in it starts and says disc may be dirty or damaged or it will say insert dvd playback receiver.what do i do please help me
look at front of your disc if you can see trough it the game is screwed. if that isnt it your machine may need to be cleand. but other than that i have absolutly no idea about the dvd thing?
First, I want to ask, is this problem occuring constantly when using real games, backup games or both? What kind of drive do you have? If you don't know check here: http://webpages.charter.net/modchipzone/xboxdrives.htm If you have a Thomson or Philips, the "dirty disc error" is not uncommon. It sounds like your laser is going out, so you may need to pot tweak it or may even just need to clean the lens off. Worst comes to worse you can buy a new drive, which is not all that spendy.

You don't need to buy that stuff, it is a rip off. Just use alcohol to clean your lens off. I found the perfect little guide for you: http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/cleaning_your_dvd_drive.htm Like it says in that guide, don't plan on it working, because the majority of a time it doesn't. If it does not work we'll start talking about tweaking your drive.
