Hello all! I have been having trouble with my PC games running to fast. What I mean is they are running at a accelerated rate, so fast that they become hard to play. This does not happen all of the time, something like 50% or so. I should also say that they do not experience frame rate problems, they look very smooth, just way to fast. When the problem happens, it starts from the moment I open the program - like I said, this does not happen all the time. These are the games I have tried (all with the same problem): Crysis (lags: speeds up and slow down) Need for Speed™ ProStreet (frequently runs at double time, I can tell because the race timer is running at double time) Assassin's Creed (Runs insanely fast when it speeds up). Now for my PC: Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional OS Service Pack Service Pack 2 DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c) CPU Type DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2200 MHz (11 x 200) 4200+ Motherboard Name Unknown Motherboard Chipset nVIDIA GeForce 6150, AMD Hammer System Memory 2048 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM) BIOS Type Award (09/19/06) Video Adapter: ATI Radeon™ HD 3850 (512mb) Monitor LG L204WT(Digital) [NoDB] Monitor Plug and Play Monitor [NoDB] Audio Adapter Realtek ALC883 @ nVIDIA nForce 430 (MCP51) - High Definition Audio Controller Disk Drive ST3500630AS (500 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-II) Optical Drive PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-212D SMART Hard Disks Status OK Network Adapter NETGEAR GA311 Gigabit Adapter DMI BIOS Vendor Phoenix Technologies, LTD DMI BIOS Version 3.11 DMI System Manufacturer HP Pavilion 061 DMI Motherboard Manufacturer ASUSTek Computer INC. Any help would be very appreciated.
this ISN'T normal. if you was to reinstall windows i doubt you'd have this problem. so this means it is a software/driver problem. 1)try to pinpoint the software. i.e. this problem happened after installing such a driver/software 2) problem: i didn't install anything. it just happened. solution: do system restore to a point when it worked fine. 3) run a billion programs to slow down your computer
