    i just bought a game shark i put it in the ps2 and it makes noises and says disc read error what can i do to fix this so i can use it its brand new

    Sound's like you're experiencing the infamous "Disc Read Error" problem, notoriously found in older PS2s. After a few years of normal usage, most PS2s eventually suffer from this problem, preventing it from reading certain kinds of discs.

    Fortunately in most cases this can be easily fixed by adjusting the angle between the laser and the disc. If you're comfortable with taking your PS2 apart, you can follow this guide, taking you through the "recalibration" process, step-by-step:

    Before trying this method I would suggest carefully and very lightly cleaning the surface of the lens with a q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Just remember that removing the sticker preventing you from taking your console apart will void your warranty.
