Just a funny little story how something you dont expect ends up as the root of the problem. Anyhow I installed a wiikey on a friend's wii. He later comes to me and tells me that while he was playing a game, the wii suddenly turned off and stayed off no matter how many times he pressed the power button. I immediately thought ok maybe its the modchip or power adapter. I had him use a different power adapter and it still would not turn on. We then disconnected all the GC controllers tried to turn it back on and it worked. As soon as he popped in a GC game and hooked up one GC controller the Wii went dark again. We noticed that that one GC controller had exposed wires and was causing a short. So in the future, if anybody has any problems, this is one to look for......cheers.
