I have searched this forum on how to backup GC images. I what to know what software is required and the step. I have one of my game images but I don't know how to burn it to DVD disc. Please help.
just burn it as a iso in nero My nero comes up with a pop up box and once ive dragged it into the box it says would you like to burn this as a image and i just click yes and thats it!
Use any burning program that can write iso images. Personally, I use Nero 6.6.0.18. Check the size of the iso image (Right-click on the file -> properties). It MUST be EXACTLY 1,459,978,240 bytes. If the file is not that size you need to run FSTFIX on it. Hope it helps !
brewgod, how's the new bios flash working? I see that you have an image to play with, good luck on backuping.
I thought an ISO was a standard like ISO9000. If it is a standard DVD Decrypter should work. I have not burned my ISO to DVD yet because I did not want to make a coster until I have the procedure correct and I am also wanting for my new case to arrive to use standard size DVDs in my GC. Has some one tried DVD decrypter and knows for sure that it will not work. I don't have Neros and I don't want to pay for anothe piece of SW. I do have Alcohol 120%. Would that work?
Do you honestly think any of us have paid for the full version of Nero? Just go to the website, download Nero 6, then go get a serial number that works for the full version and use it. 30 seconds worth of work.
Can somebody tell me if I can burn my backups using Alcohol 120%? I have DVD Decrypter but Pred123 said I can't burn my iso with it. I am not sure why not.
Alcohol 120% gives some message about blocks and DVD Decrypter/ImgBurn gives a similar message. Without knowing the right configuration, a lot of coasters will be produced. The reason we all use Nero is because it burns the image just as easily as say, a PS2, Xbox, or movie image file. As for serial numbers, Google is your friend. Just make sure you have good virus, spyware, and adware protection on your comp.
My suggestion still is: use Nero. It's the easiest way and almost everybody uses it without problems. BTW: i found a link for FSTFIX, it's version 1.3 so it's not the last one (1.5 i think?). But still... http://www.freewebtown.com/make86/files/FSTFiX_GUI_1.3f.zip Google for the newer versions, or try to look for it in Boki2002's thread (sticky at the forums). Regards
