I bought a GC with the XenoGC chip yesterday, and decided to burn some games I downloaded. None of the games worked.... well, they worked at certain point, but I keep getting the DRE quite often. I also used Ritek Ridata MiniDVD on these burns. I used Imgburn because I read in this forums that is the only program that can burn images in .gcm format. However, everytime that I try to burn, the device buffer keeps getting up and down, and can't pass over 85%, plus, the burning rate says 0.5x even though I put the speed at 4x. Just what's going on? Could it be my burner? I use an external SONY DRX-720UL and keep getting this problems. I know the problem is not the chip nor the console, because the friend to whom I bought it has LOTS of burned games and all worked perfectly.
It seems that your burner isn't compatible with that media. Check the oficial compatibility list provide by Ritek http://www.ritekusa.com/pdf/DVDminus/DVD-R_Compatibility_at_DVD_Burner_Aug_05_2007_1.pdf http://www.ritekusa.com/DataServlet?ItemID=111&request=supports You can also burn any gcm image using another program by changing its extension from .gcm to .iso
