So I am looking at Newegg's daily deals and I run across the ZOTAC GeForce 9800 GTX. Then later I see ASUS Radeon HD 4850. Both are the same price ($5 difference doesnt count) and look equally good. But which one would you go with? Which is the better of the two?

they butt heads, its not MILES better. they are on par, it depends on the game to see which is better. but with only 1 power connector, and better drivers, and the possibility for crossfire, the 4850 anytime.

It's not quite as close as you make out shaff, the cards are on a par for some titles, but for others the 4850 is way ahead, and on several occasions too.

as i said, on some the 9800GTX is a head, on some the 4850, but when the 4850 is ahead, its by a minimum of 10%, while when the 9800GTX is ahead its about 5-7%

Indeed, But the 4850 does on a few occasions top 25%, and that's when it gets significant.
