First off, get rid of your email addy as it's against forum rules. Secondly, just to clear things up a little, are you saying you have the original DVD disc or that you have certain movie files? and lastly, when you say player, do you mean a standalone or the DVD drive in your pc?
My original DVD movies are in format MPG and AVI, however I cannot play these DVD movies on my home (standalone) player. Do I need to convert any of these MPG and AVI files? in order to play on my home DVD (standalone) player.
Your Mpeg-2 files should play, given the fact they are a compatible media type. There is a possible reason that the blank media you are using, may not be able to be read by that player. Use DVD-R blanks and see how you go. As for AVI files, they do need converting into Mpeg-2 format. Type in avi to dvd into the search function and read up on the various threads for what to use and how to use them. When you burn your Mpeg files to DVD, keep the burning speed at 4X or 8X speed and use the best blanks you can afford. (Verbatim etc) Don't forget to edit out your email address!
@robbee111 Since you had multiple threads open with the same question and the one I posted in is closed here is my reply from that thread.... The easiest way for you to do this would be to use a program called ConvertXtoDVD. It is created by VSO Software. Get that and the follow this guide. It will walk you through the whole process of making your AVI's and MPEG's into DVD's.
