So i have backed up three of my games this week already but when i tried to back up Genji it seemed to be too Big for the standard DVD-R, so i burned it onto a DL DVD-R, the game loads and goes into the options screen and then just "hangs" - black screen! what went wrong? is there a problem with burning to DVD-R DL?
Please help, i really like this game and would hate not to have a back up of it if something went wrong!

does this gnies rebuilding tool work for MGS substance, to convert to dvd5 and play with mod chip or do you have to use the old rebuilding method?

Well as far as I know the newer method (found on page 18 of that link I gave you, which is http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/18/275350) is easier to use, but gives you less control, and if a game isn't in the plugin list then you'll either have to use the old (and more troublesome) method, or you can wait for a plugin for that game to be released.

I have used the old method to rebuild a few games and had no problems with it, it's not that hard really, just requires a little bit of reading :)
