I have purchased the Sony DRU810 burner for my computer. However, I have no idea how to get the vhs to my computer. I was told I needed a firewire usb cable, but the pins in my cable need to be 13 pin. I have not been able to find anything close to this. My camcorder is 16 years old. Is there another way to upload the tapes to the computer and still be able to edit and copy to DVD?

    conniez,

if u get a tv tuner card u can play your tapes in your vhs player and record on your hard drive. it takes a while it the unhappy part.
cannot help with good editing software, but this will get your movies to your computer.

    tiggerme -

You mentioned that it would take a long time - is it because of the real-time recording time? I am asking because I ahve everything I need to cenvery my VHS tapes to dvd's but - oh my goodness - the amount of GB is RIDICULOUS!

    connie

WinVideo DVD Creator will do it for you - that is not the only program out there though - you may want to search around - there is another one I know does it that i cant think of the name ...

ANYONE - does anyone know a way to cenvert vhs to dvd without it being an extreme amount of GB?
