Getting 5.1 From My Stand Alone DVD Recorder

    hello world its me again.... i just want to know how i can record and get 5.1 surround sound from my Emerson EWR10D5 onto the final product.... everything ive burned from television is 2 channel and its killin me.... ive spoiled myself on surround sound.... does anyone know?

    Everything you record from TV will be broadcast in stereo. Thats it.
    Your only fudge to this is if your surround sound system has dolby pro-logic II (two). (pro-logic I is old and crap)
    This will create a very good surround sound through a six speaker system from a stereo (2 channel) source.

    True digital 5.1 surround can only come from a digital source such as DVD and even then the movie has to be encoded with this type of soundtrack. (most are, but there are a few with just stereo)
