I have an LG 4167B DVD burner that won't recognize D/L's. According to the spec's it is DL capable and when I run DVD InfoPro it confirms that it is DL capable. It has the latest firmware - at least that I can find. I have tried two kinds of discs, Memorex and Verbatim - no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks
the Verbatim disks should have been recognized as it is the most universal/compatible brand out there with Taiyo Yuden! Does it record onto the Verbatim disks? have you tried? sometimes a disk isn't recognized until it's burned! try that.
Neither the Verbatims or the Memorex are recognized - ir when you try and burn a DL it's as if there is no disc in the burner - the burner does nothing. Edited to say O updated the firmware as mentionned above but there was no change. I called LG support who told me it was more than likely that I had a 40 pin connector cable and I would need an 80. They said they didn't used to ship with 80 pin cables - why offer a DL capable drive and not ship with the cable that allows you to actually utilize that capacity?
