i was wondering if there is a program or a way to get a donwloaded dvd file or just a dvd onto a regular cd-r?
DVD Ripper such as DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper 2.41+ Cinema Craft Encoder+ DVD2SVCD m8. Depends on the size of the file. What file format is the file? you can use DVDx to get a dvd onto a normal cd-r but encoding it with only a few clicks rather than go throug the entire manual procedure of using 10 different rograms to get the same result

You get better results using DVD2SVCD if backing up a dvd to svcd (mpeg2) or converting DivX (AVI) to cd-r(w)= proven fact. Shoey
Just be sure to use Cinema Craft Encoder as it is the fastest of the supported 3 DVD2SVCD uses. The other 2 are TMPEnc and Canopus ProCoder. If you need a guide I'll be more than happy to post. I recommend you use multi-pass vbr3 for your first rip&encode and create bin& cue files and burn those no faster than 8x m8. To be honest im a big fan of the SmartRipper/DVDx combo hehe. Then again i only rip to AVI so virtually every app is pretty much the same for that purpose. I dunno about (S)VCD comparisons
same ere really however i certainly and logically now that svcd will be better than vcd but wat is the quality of svcd in comparison to a xvid or divx does it even compare at the end of the day im all about quality man i cant, shall not , will \NOT watch bad quality vcd or svcd if they aint up to scratch
Hell yes it does m8. My SVCD backups played in my home dvd player are beyond amazing! Literally "near perfect" dvd video quality. Shoey
