Now, of note, the source was recorded on a DVD recorder, in case that may make a difference I have a DVD that I just want to get the audio from and then attempt to edit it and convert to mp3 at some point, but I am clueless as to how to begin and the guides only seem to cover ripping the whole DVD, which I already did do, so the whole source is on my computer at this time. There was no Audio_TS folder, just a Video_TS I have 6 files and just need to know how I can go about getting decent quality music from it in a format that can be edited and then converted to mp3 (so wav format would indeed be preferable, as I know that is the easiest to convert). Any ideas would be apreciated!
The process you are looking for is called demuxing this tool will extract the audio for you use it in IFO mode http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/rejig.cfm you can then use besweet and besweet gui to convert the ac3 to a mp3
Thanks muchly for the help, that indeed did do the job, just wish they would explain that better in the guides since I read them but they all mention video and not audio
