Okay this question has been popping up all over the forums so i will answer the question. If you want to go on xboxlive, turn on your modded-xbox using the disc tray (the bigger button of the two). Next, put in the game disc you want to play on live with. Then push the disc tray back into the xbox. (Like you do with a DVD player) Then, the game should run up as normal, but you will be able to go online on xboxlive. P.S It doesn't matter which modded dash you have on your xbox. All that matters is that you selected dual boot and open retail for your softmod. If you didn't this will not work!!! (open retail= self expantatory. It runs like a reg. xbox when you turn on the xbox with the disc tray button!!)
so is there anyway to go on xbox live with a softmodded xbox( no halo 2 modded content) and not get banned, i want to have xbmc and stuff but dnt want to mod on halo 2 , and dont want to get banned.
uhhh....So your basically telling how to put a disc in the xbox..(LOL) I think everyone knows how to do that... And besides you have to usually go back to the original Dashboard and change your Network settings to Auto....or else you won't connect too live. Atleast that is what I had to do...(I was connecting wirelessly)
Okay, when you have evox, if you press the eject button to turn on the xbox, it overpasses the modded dash. It then looks for the original dash. Do you get it. And Yes, if you turn on the xbox using the power button it will go to the evox. That's why someone came up with the idea called.....Open Retail! In the softmod installing process.
