    Hello,

I have been trying to burn a .ISO and .IMG file to a DVD-R but failed to. Previously when I did, it worked. I just did a clean reformat yesterday and now I can't burn files. It read files properly. My laptop is a Acer Aspire 4930G. What is the problem?

Start with turning on your DMA and shutting down all those programs running in the background. There is no reason to have 1650MB of memory in use. I would also use 8X media on this 8x burner.

LG burners, especially laptop burners, are notoriously flakey. I have one myself, total pest of a drive. I don't even waste my time with it anymore, I use an external Sony (Samsung) burner.

That's not relevant. My point is it worked before, but it does not now. How come and how do I fix it?

Does your new log report DMA on?
I’m not familiar with “iaStor.sys”. You might need to check with Acer for any updates for your system.

Are there any changes in programs installed before and after reformatting? Are there any chances of forgetting to update softwares/windows?

Horsefeathers. Sometimes the drive works, sometimes it refuses. That's the definition of "flakey". LG drives are notorious for this behavior.

Like most people suggested, turn DMA on, otherwise you will not be able to burn.

    Also,
You are trying to squeeze too much data on that disc, burning too close to the edge.

Sorry for asking such a stupid question, but what is DMA? And, I tried burning another rip that is 1.66GB but it doesn't work either.
