    You have two options:

    1) Keep your AVI files as AVI files, and select "Make Data DVD" in Nero. NOTE: The disc will only be playable on your computer, not a stand-alone DVD player.

    2) Convert your AVI files to "DVD-compliant" VOB files (VOB files will play on your stand-alone DVD player), select "Burn DVD-Video files" in Nero to burn them onto disk. To convert your AVI's to VOB's, you need to download a free program by VSO call DivxToDVD (version 0.5.2b) from this web-site:

    http://www.vso-software.fr/download.htm

Oh... you can also compress the VOB's you get after you run your AVI's through DivxToDVD, with a program called DVDshrink. It will let you put more episodes on each disk... just don't push your compression below 70% if you do this.

OK, so i've done alot of searching and reading but i really cant get the next part straight.... I've converted my episodes of 24 in avi2dvd. I started by converting the first 4 episodes (4 separate avi's), so I have 4 folders with all the files from each conversion (video_ts, audio_ts, audiostream 1 mp3.ac3, avisynth.avs, Besweet.bat, dvdauthor.xml and a dvdimage.iso). I need to burn em onto my dvd-r (assuming that the 4 episodes fit, if not i know that dvdshrink is my next step), but i'm just having a problem figuring out how to burn em onto one disk, and if they will fit, is there any way to set them as individual episodes? I thought i read that i can do it in nero, but like i said, I'm a little stuck on what I do at this point. What files of all those does nero need, the iso or the TS folders? And can i break it up so i can watch the 2nd or 3rd episode without having to fastforward through the whole disk?
I really tried to use the search before i asked this, so I apologize if i missed the answer somewhere else. Thanks in advance.

hmm..well i tried both of the options RussReef posted, the first one worked fine, but im still having trouble burning my episodes on a DVD+R so i can watch it on my DVD player. I converted my AVI files to VOB but when i try to burn them, only one of the 7 or 8 episodes I put on the DVD plays.

What im trying to do is to make my episodes I downloaded burned onto a DVD+R with Nero Vision Express with a "Customized Menu".

Problem is, every episode [I have 25 episodes (whole season)] is about 175 MB, but when i try to burn it with NVE, one episode takes up 1+GB, even if i convert it into a VOB file.

Is there something i can do to fix this problem, or is there something wrong with my Nero?

By no means am I sure about this svb, but when you convert them to vob, they will be a whole lot bigger than the original avi. I just converted some episodes of 24 and they got alot bigger. If you want to fit a few episodes on one dvd-r, you will definately need to use dvdshrink. There are guides in the forum that can help you with this, because I might confuse you even more if I try and explain it. Good luck!

well, yeah i've tried the DVD shrink, but you know im talking about putting at least 6-8 episodes on 1 DVD+R right? well thats where im kinda lost. I read the guides, but it still doesnt solve my problem of why, even though I compress my files, Nero converts it into 1+ GB. Its fraustrating the hell out of me. My friend's friend was able to put at least 12 episodes of "Naruto" (Japanese anime) on 1 DVD with Cusomtized Menus. Im trying to do what he did, but i have no conection to him at all. Sorry if it seems im repeating myself, first time I've tried to burn any video/movie files with NeroVision Express.

@ svb1115: those avi's you have are always going to be enlarged when you convert them to another format in this case mpeg2.If you want to get the maximum value, well you have vso divx to dvd.Once that program has converted your files to the mpeg or dvd movie format, nero does work but i suggest that you try tmpgenc dvd author, add your menus but also change your disc to [bold] dual layered [/bold].The reason i suggest this is that you will get more episodes to disc.

You can fit as many episodes as you want on a disc (of course, quality will eventually become degraded).

Just convert all your AVI's with VSO'x divxtodvd, then use DVDshrink to put as many of your VOB's onto one disk as you want (it will compress them as you do this, just don't let the compression drop to below 70% or so), then make menus and burn with Nero.

When you convert animation, it almost always makes smaller VOB files than non-animation... probably because animation contains less information.
