Good backup games won't boot

    I have a modded xbox and my backup games boot and play. I put the same version bio and evolution x on a friend's and the new dashboard comes up but when you put a backup game in (that works on mine), Up at the top of the screen it says, CHECKING and then UNKNOWN. The dvd will not launch. Original games will launch.

    check the dvd drive it might be a samsung in which case it my only read dvd-r.

    are you sure he has the same version box as yours? it isnt a newer one?
