    Hi all,

Im going to try my hand at converting my somewhat large video collection to DVD. I have decided to use TMPGEnc to encode and author as i have read it is one of the best ways?!

What i have yet to figure out is what capture card and capture software to use for best results (least dropped frames etc). I would prefer to use an internal card but i am really looking for good quality at a fair price.

By what i have read PC wont be an issue as it is a AMD64 3800 with 2GB Ram.

    Many thanks for your help.

As a side issue my VCR has two audio connectors (left and right) and two scarts. I am going to use a scart to composite cable to connect the video but what about the sound?

The capture cards i have seen dont have composite sound connectors on them.

Sorry in advance if there is a really simple answer to this.

    Cheers
